We provide inclusive, high-quality programming in gymnastics and fitness for individuals of all abilities. We are seeking a proactive and skilled Program Lead for the Competitive Department.

Position Summary

The Program Lead – Competitive Department is responsible for the overall success of the program through curriculum development, coach training, program administration, and exceptional participant experiences. This role provides leadership to coaching staff, ensures program quality and consistency, and works collaboratively with department leadership to grow and strengthen the program.

The Program Lead serves as the primary trainer for new coaches, oversees day-to-day program operations, and ensures all programming aligns with TNT policies, safety standards, and organizational goals. This position is ideal for an experienced coach or instructor who enjoys mentoring others, developing high-quality programming, and creating a positive environment where participants and staff can thrive.


Work Schedule

This is a full-time position that includes afternoon and evening hours, with occasional weekends required for special events, competitions, or program needs.

Typical weekly responsibilities include:

  • Approximately 20–30 hours coaching participants (depending on program needs)
  • Approximately 10–20 hours dedicated to planning, curriculum development, administrative work, coach training, setup, and program management

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Curriculum

  • Lead the overall development and success of the assigned program.
  • Design, evaluate, and continuously improve developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Ensure program operations comply with TNT policies, program handbooks, and rotation schedules.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, participant progress, and skill tracking records.
  • Communicate curriculum updates, lesson plans, and expectations to coaching staff.
  • Assist in developing and updating program handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide coaching coverage as needed to maintain safe participant-to-coach ratios.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.

Coach Development & Leadership

  • Train, mentor, and support all new coaches within the program.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Assist Department Managers with interviewing and hiring coaches.
  • Review coaching schedules and ensure staff receive appropriate training before leading classes.
  • Lead regular staff meetings and communicate program updates.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold organizational standards.

Participant Experience

  • Deliver high-quality instruction while providing a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

  • Build meaningful relationships with participants and families.

  • Respond professionally and promptly to parent questions and concerns.

  • Ensure appropriate supervision and participant safety at all times.

Customer Service & Program Growth

  • Assist with program tours, open houses, and community outreach events.

  • Support program marketing and promotional efforts.

  • Develop content and collaborate with the marketing team to promote the program.

  • Maintain communication platforms for participants and families.

  • Build positive relationships with participants, parents, schools, and community partners.

  • Participate in TNT signature events, including:

    • Winter Challenge

    • Giving Hearts Day

    • ABLE™


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience in the assigned program or a similar curriculum.

  • Experience developing lesson plans, activities, or program curriculum.

  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with children, families, and coworkers.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while adapting to changing needs.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle challenging situations professionally.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to make sound independent decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or staff training experience.

  • Experience supervising or developing coaching staff.


Required Certifications

The following certifications must be completed within the first three months of employment (paid for by TNT):

  • North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services Fingerprint Background Check

  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/First Aid/AED Certification

  • CDC Heads Up Concussion Training

  • USA Gymnastics Instructor Member Certifications (if applicable to the program)
