Position Summary
The Program Lead – Xcel Gymnastics is responsible for the overall success of the Xcel Gymnastics program through curriculum development, coach training, program administration, and exceptional participant experiences. This role provides leadership to coaching staff, ensures program quality and consistency, and works collaboratively with department leadership to grow and strengthen the program.
This position is ideal for an experienced gymnastics coach who enjoys mentoring others, building high-quality programming, and creating a positive environment where athletes and coaches can thrive.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position that includes afternoon and evening hours, with occasional weekends required for special events, competitions, or program needs.
Typical weekly responsibilities include:
- Approximately 25-30 hours coaching participants (minimum of 20 hours within the Xcel Program)
- Approximately 10-15 hours for planning, administrative work, setup, and cleanup
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Curriculum
- Lead the overall development and success of the Xcel Gymnastics program.
- Design, evaluate, and update curriculum to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction.
- Ensure program operations comply with TNT policies, program handbooks, and rotation schedules.
- Maintain accurate attendance, skill tracking, and program records.
- Communicate curriculum updates and expectations to coaching staff.
- Assist in the development and revision of program handbooks and policies.
- Provide coaching coverage as needed to maintain appropriate participant ratios.
- Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
Coach Development & Leadership
- Train, mentor, and support all new coaches within the Xcel program.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Assist the Department Managers by interviewing and hiring coaches.
- Review coaching schedules and ensure coaches are properly trained before leading classes.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate program updates.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold organizational standards.
Participant Experience
- Deliver high-quality instruction while providing a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants and families.
- Respond professionally and promptly to parent questions and concerns.
- Ensure appropriate supervision and participant safety at all times.
Customer Service & Program Growth
- Assist with program tours, open houses, and community events.
- Support program marketing and promotional efforts.
- Develop content and collaborate with the marketing team to promote the Xcel program.
- Maintain communication platforms for participants and families.
- Participate in TNT signature events
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of gymnastics coaching experience or experience coaching a similar curriculum.
- Experience developing lesson plans, activities, or program curriculum.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with children, families, and coworkers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while adapting to changing needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make independent decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or staff training experience.
- Experience supervising or developing coaching staff.
Required Certifications
The following certifications must be completed within the first three months of employment (paid for by TNT):
- North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services Fingerprint Background Check
- Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (in-person)
- CDC Heads Up Concussion Training
- USA Gymnastics Instructor Member certifications
